Larry Turcotte

GREENE - Laurier T. (Lany) Turcotte. 72. of Greene. passed away at home
on Monday. June 1 after a lengthy battle with cancer with his loving wife
and children by his side. He fought bravely. never complaining and always
remaining positive.
Larry was born on April 13, 1943. the second son of Philip Turcotte and
Anna Denis Turcotte. He attended Lewiston schools and graduated from
Lewiston High School in 1961. He also took classes at El Camino College in
California.
Larry worked at Hall & Knight, later Redlon & Johnson, for 43 years. There,
he met Sue, who later became his wife. and they recently celebrated their
45th wedding anniversary.
Larry loved spending time with his family and attending all of his children's
and grandchildren's activities. He loved sports and was a Little League and
volleyball coach and played baseball, softball, volleyball and golf. He also
enjoyed his Friday night bowling league.
He had a few hobbies that he thoroughly enjoyed, including photography,
woodworking, building beautiful stone walls and cutting wood in the Tuck
fields. He also loved to travel and visited National Parks out West, and took
trips to Washington D.C., Gettysburg, Florida, Europe, the Caribbean, and
many memorable Maine destinations.
An unselfish and caring man, he was well-loved as a husband, father,
pepere, brother, brother-in-law, uncle. cousin and good friend to many. He
will be greatly missed by all who knew him.
Larry is survived by his wife, Sue; daughter, Julie and her husband, Jamie;
and granddaughters, Jenna and Jalee; son, Barry and his wife. Alison;
brothers, Denis and Norman; in-laws, Ellen, Claire and Jerry, Nancy and
Jack, Bob and Gail, and Jerry; 13 nieces; and three nephews.
He was predeceased by both of his parents in 1984; and a brother, Ron, in
2011.
A special thanks to Dr. Daniel Rausch and his wonderful staff for their
heartfelt care and genuine concern. Also, to Dr. Michael Parker and his
dedicated staff, Dr. Lise Cloutier and Dr. Michael Brown and the caring staff
at Central Maine Medical Center. We would like to also thank Androscoggin
Home Care and Hospice, especially Kathleen for her support and
compassion which was greatly appreciated and to Donna for her assistance.
